This is the same low pressure, high energy training curriculum, with an expanded attention to detail targeting newer shooters, first time buyers, and those especially interested in home and personal defense. Training will cover safety absolutes, parts, pieces, function, platform, and state gun law during an evening session, allowing you to handle different types of handgun styles and calibers. We’ll meet the following day for an action packed range session learning basic accuracy, target acquisition, reloads, and malfunction correction, wrapping up with several engaging speed drills and familiarity exercises.
We’ll also introduce proper defensive mindset, and what it means to be a gun owner or shooter in Alaska. Each student must shoot a qualification target for course completion. This course offers a comfortable forum where specific questions are encouraged, helping you lay a strong foundation of handgun knowledge and safety. Previous handgun experience beneficial, but not required.
