John Whipple - Instructor
John is a Publications Specialist for the State of Alaska drawing on over 12 years of adventure filmography and professional photography. Growing up in Alaska fostered his love of the wilderness which gives validity to his pursuits as a big game guide, prolific outdoor writer, and commercial photographer for several well known firearms and equipment brands. John has taught bear safety and bear defense for over 17 years and is passionate about helping people have safe encounters and adventures in the backcountry. In all his spare time John manages to be a master of the bolt rifle and defensive shotgun platforms and maintains handgun proficiency through leagues and competitive shooting. He brings a wealth of personal experience, knowledge, and skill to our training family sharing his commitment to excellence in every class.
